parking ticket help pls court action

hi, got a parking ticket 2 months ago, took the advise from some forums on here and ignored the letters,
entered carpark at 12:00
paid for ticket at 12:18 (4 hour ticket)
left carpark at 16:25
time approx in carpark 4hrs 26mins
(this was due to trying to find a parking space, trying to phone and pay and then actually walking to machine to pay.)
i ignored three letters from parking eye and now a letter from Northampton court has came through the door. I logged on to see if this was a real case that had been opened and it was.
i have since acknoledged the court online + filled out a defence form stating that my wife was not infact the driver and I was. awaiting to hear from them now.
i was wondering if anyone could give me any guidance what to do from here on.......
how accurate are the times on these anpr cameras and also will they start to pursue me now and not my wife, any help would be much apperciated. many thanks

sorry to say this so prepare yourself
your holding defence was ill thought out and very , VERY stupid (or naive)
you SHOULD have come here and asked sooner , before putting anything in that defence box , because that is no defence at all and you cannot change it down the track without paying out a lot of money
PE will wipe the floor with you if that is your defence
read this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5516879 especially post #6 (read it twice)
they will pursue whoever was named on the court papers , nobody else , I assume your wife is the keeper so she is deemed responsible and they will allege liable for the pcn (despite who may have been driving) - see POFA2012 (october 2012)
they will allege that their ANPR cameras are accurate and may provide evidence of them being checked (like a car gets an MOT every year after 3 years and onwards)
the advice on here for the last 3.5 years is do not ignore , the NEWBIES FAQ thread tells you what to do and when regarding pcn,s
it should have been appealed at the time and taken to popla if necessary0 -
thanks for that reply, how stupid am i ??? what would you suggest i do from here??0

first job is to find out if the defence can be retracted or altered because at the moment the judge would award the claim to PE if the defence was "I was not driving so am not liable for the charge"
you may need to pay to change the defence , it wont be cheap , but there is an old saying
"act in haste , repent at leisure"
you should always do your homework and research when filling documents in , especially legal documents , as you dont usually get a second chance
POFA2012 killed your defence in one fell swoop , providing that PE got the NTK to your wife by day 15, which they usually do
the law changed almost 4 years ago, so its not new0 -

What, the claim form went to your wife yet YOU thought you could acknowledge it? I guess she could try ringing Northampton court tomorrow and say a third party (you) filled in the AOS online without her consent and SHE is the Defendant so she would like to acknowledge the claim (and the previous submission,NOT being from the Defendant, should be ignored).
Good luck, I suspect you have blown it but the real Defendant should try to rewind this! It is NOT for you to do if she is the Defendant.
Second suggestion - contact the landowner and complain vociferously and see if they can negotiate a £50 settlement with their agent, PE, to make it go away. PE will often settle cases but mostly if a landowner pushes for it.
You did not get that advice on here, not unless you read old threads (I can never understand how people manage to do that, on a forum that has at least 30 new threads/posts every day!). We have not told anyone in England/Wales to ignore ParkingEye since early 2013, over 3 years ago, when they first started to sue the pants off people. The sticky thread clearly says never ignore, as does my signature so even if you read old posts I have written, my signature in red still displays and tells everyone NOT to ignore.got a parking ticket 2 months ago, took the advise from some forums on here and ignored the letters,PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
