Booster seat on Easy Jet

Hi all,
We travelled from Crete to UK with Easy Jet last month, bringing our booster seat with us (that we bought in Crete). The flight attendant told us that we could not use it during the flight, unless it had been "airline manufactured". Does this mean we need Boeing booster seats? Or am I being obtuse?

It needs to be an Airline Approved seat rather than Airline Manufactured seat. Airbus and Boeing don't make them.

Often the car seat manufacturer will have a label on the seat or in the booklet which came with it when purchased to let you know if the seat meets those requirements.

If you can't find this on your child's seat then it may not be suitable but still worth googling the product or contacting the manufacture to double check.

Some airlines also require you to travel with the manufacturers information booklet which shows the fitting instructions.

I know what you're getting at, but easyJet have a grand total of zero Boeings in their fleet, so another manufacturer might have been more appropriate.

easyJet's policy on car/booster seats is as follows:
Can I take a car seat or a booster seat?

To help with your child’s comfort on flights, you can bring a car seat for their use during the flight as long as it complies with the manufacturer’s age/weight/height recommendations. (You can also bring a car seat for an infant (under 2 years old) if you have paid for a seat for them.)
Able to fit in the 42cm space between the arm rests on the aircraft seats
Upright and forward facing (For safety reasons, a backward facing seat cannot be used when the fasten seat belt sign is on. So, unless your infant will be sitting on your lap at these times, they must be the right age for a forward-facing seat).
Booster seats can be your one piece of cabin baggage by itself, or if it fits, you could put the booster seat inside your one piece of cabin baggage. If you bring a maximum size bag (56 x 45 x 25cm) and a booster seat, one piece may have to go in the hold on a busy flight.

Please be aware though, a booster seat can’t be used the same as a car seat for infants or children to use during take-off and landing, but you use it during the flight itself when the fasten seatbelt sign is off. To do this, make sure it is within the maximum size of 56 x 45 x 25cm (or inside a bag of this size) to ensure it travels with you in the cabin. It will be stored in the overhead locker or under the seat in front during take-off and landing.

If you don’t want to use the car or booster seat in-flight, just drop it at the Bag Drop desk to go in the hold. We carry booster seats, car seats, buggies, push chairs and travel cots for free. They don’t form part of your luggage allowance and you can bring up to two of these items per infant or child.
