Will this be okay in Hand Luggage?

My aunt lives in Spain and I'm going to stay with her next week. I've not booked a hold case.

One of the things she has asked me to pick up for her and bring is a tool designed to make it easier for people with mobility issues to get in and out of a car more easily.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/HandyBar-091032705-Car-Transfer-Bar/dp/B00HVVAGMI

It arrived with me today and looking at it I'm wondering whether it will make it through security. It has a cutter in the handle designed to allow you to cut through seatbelt webbing and a steel point designed to break a car window in the event of an emergency.

Can anyone who works airport security please advise?

Is there any way to ask security at the airport I'm flying out of as I don't want to risk it being confiscated but don't want to pay to post it if it will be okay?

Looking at the Amazon description in your link it doesn't have a cutter does it? However it does look like a small hammer which is quite likely to be refused at the airport. It is very light at under 400g - you could post it by airmail for £5.60.

Looking at the Amazon picture it would appear that the item has a cutting implement larger that 2cm and with a handle longer than 6cm. I think this might well create a problem at airport security in the UK and NOT be permitted in your cabin baggage.

The current regulations can be found here

Whilst not technically a 'tool' I would read the notes in that section as the security staff might consider it to be classified as such.

Thanks, I do think it could be likely to fall under the "tool" category. £5.60 is a lot cheaper than adding a hold bag so will probably do that then. :)

Thanks Westin. The blade is only a few millimetres long and couldn't be used to cut a person but I think it might be classed as a tool. Would rather avoid any hassle so think I'll post it. :)
