Logitech Speakers - Boombox works but speakers don't!

Hello.....
I was wondering if someone could help? I've got a PC with 2 speakers and a boombox, I recently moved house and since then I can only get the boombox to work.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, switching cables around, checking it's all plugged in properly and also messing about with anothing onscreen that had anything to do with speakers or sound.
I managed to get it to 'test' the speakers yesterday but still the sound came only from the boombox, plus I don't know what I was doing but I did manage to get sound from the speakers via something in the control panel, though I can't remember what (helpfully!) so they do work.
Any help would be appreciated!
