confused regarding barclays ppi claim

Hello I received a text from barclays on 31st August saying we have paid the refund on your PPI claim and you should receive it within 10 days, however I have had since received 2 letters from Barclays both dated 30th August saying sorry for the delay we are looking into your claim and are unable to reach a final decision?

Are the letters and text just out of sync? as i did ring following the text and they confirmed a payout of £548 - not a huge amount but a lovely little bonus. Do you think they have changed their decision?

    By any chance has it been around 8 weeks since you first complained? That letter sounds like an auto generated holding letter sent when the claim reaches 8 weeks. If your case was worked on that 8 week date, the uphold letter and auto holding letter would have clashed. You'll still get your money.

    Just ignore the two letters telling you about a "delay".
