we've bought a wooden squirrel feeder for bottom of the garden but its quite a soft wood, and our previous one worked well, but has almost fallen apart/rotted due to the winters, can anyone recommend a safe/preferred wood treatment we could use on the new one please?
A kind of creosote/stain/varnish type to use, but one preferably non-toxic to animals?

Culprinol shades is a good product. I used it for those mini logs around edge of garden 3 years ago gave it 3 coats and its been fine only slight bit of mould at top of the logs where its shady in some parts, it comes is loads of colours too. I also used it on two benches outside.0

I would use tung oil - as I already have it and it is good for human food surfaces. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
