garden hose attachments: alternatives to hozelock
Hi,
Ive not been too impressed with the longevity of a range of hozelock products attached to our garden hose.
The tap connector fittings always leak. The sprinklers and watering guns have not lasted as long as I feel they should.
Are there any alternatives?

Don't know if it helps, but the rubber O-rings inside deteriorate over time. They're easily replaceable.
Here's a couple of examples from a quick web search:

You can get a brass hose set at Toolstation for a third less than the equivalent plastic Hozelok set.

All the connections on everything i have from the tap to various appliances pressure washer, sprinklers, brushes and hoses are all brass. I rarely get any leaks. They were more expensive short term but in the long term have probably saved me moneyEven a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0

Brass is the way to go. I would never go back to plastic fittings.0

Again, brass is best. All, plastic and brass, can be improved by using PTFE plumbing tape to aid the joint. Helps especially with the plastic-to-hose connectors.0

Thanks to Badrick.
Straight to Toolstation. Got the package of fittings. Amazing.
Not a drop leaking.
