Brockholes (Preston) parking fines

Today I have received a letter from Park with Ease, claiming I didn't pay a parking fee at Brockholes Country Park and demanding £50.
I googled 'disputes with car parking at Brockholes' and it is amazing how often this situation comes up. Hence I joined this forum as the issue has come up here more than once and over a period of a few years so it is disappointing that Brockholes Country park does not accept responsibility for any of this

The letter claims a visit to “country park” on 9th August,, there is a vehicle recognition system in place and apparently signage indicating you should pay on leaving the car park.
The driver in question - paid the maximum £6 in coins and had a conversation with strangers at the payment machine as to the expense of the fees.
A month later, unsurprisingly, the driver has no evidence or proof of payment.
Today I, vehicle keeper, received a letter from “Park with Ease” (someone clearly had a sense of humour when they chose this name, but my own sense of humour is a bit depleted just now)

They claim non payment of parking fees on 9th August. Their letter regarding " fine" dated 24th August, received by me today 2nd September. Envelope unfranked so I cannot ascertain posting date.
Their letter is issuing me with a £50 fine for non payment of parking fees or £25 is paid up within 21 days of notice being given.
Very angry and upset as clearly, a month later there is no way to prove the correct parking fees (daily maximum) were paid
Any advice please?

Please read the newbies FAQ sticky, posts #1 and #2.
Send the IPC template from post #1.
Ignore everything after that, short of a LBA or MCOL (post #2 explains acronyms).
Simultaneously you should complain vociferously to whoever owns/runs Brockholes. Also hit their social media pages - TripAdvisor, Twitter, Facebook etc and give them both barrels. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

if they are using a ANPR type system or do not place a ticket on the car at the time of the incident , then a NTK must be RECIEVED within 14 day *
*providing that this is not a lease/hire car , IE the V5 in your name / address
as they have not only failed to deliver , but they have also dated the "invoice" after 14 days , they cannot go after the owner (as per POFa2012) and must chase the driver .
special effort must be made that you do not admit to being the driver , and you should edit your original posting to read "the driver did this" etcSave a Rachael

Go to the forum thread list (one page back from this one) and you'll find it near the top of the list (one of only four stickies on this forum - always found at the top of any forum list, regardless of specialist topic). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
