    OP wanted to be connected from the other exchange because it has fibre.

    So bt should dig up the roads to lay fibre in. Someone countered saying that digging up the roads will cost tens of thousands.

    Some bright spark suggested why should laying fibre cost more than copper to which I responded copper lines are already laid so it is a sunk cost that has been amortised a very long time ago.

    You should read the thread of conversation before nitpickig on one comment without context.
