npower final bil

Oh my. Npower.

Today I received a notification off my bank saying that I had gone overdrawn. 1300+£ had been removed from my back without notice.

I recently changed suppliers in June and I assume this was my final bill. We have a small house and use an average amount of energy. We've always paid by direct debit and have had Meter readers around at various times to check our readings.

I rang npower this morning. First person said that I was due to pay the cash, disputes 2nd person had no record of bill and had me on hold for 20 mins then 3rd person didn't know who I was so had to explain everything a 3rd time. Thus far they've told me to put an indemnity claim to my bank, which I've done successfully, and to ring the up when I'm not at work tomorrow to sort out what's happened.

To take out a vast sum of money with not notice is outrageous. Common sense should have prevailed. How can the final bill be so much. I previously paid something like £70 a month direct debit. 1300!!!

Stay away from this toxic company

The bank must like you if they let you go that much overdrawn!

If it was your final bill i assume you gave a final read and worked out the differnece yourself and would roughly know the final bill amount.

Paying by DD is usual. So is checking that read from readers and yourself get onto the bill. Did you do this?

Sounds reasonable they should have given you 28 days notice. Yes it's a pain waiting around but with issues and having to get though to the right department that can advise this is the same at any supplier.

Mistakes occur, the letter probably is sitting somewhere waiting to be sent out.

£70 a month is what i would call the low user end of things. I pay £103 and paid £160 in my old less insulated property.

Again have you ensured you actual read are being used on the bill? If not you only have yourself to blame. if so then yes you can be mad at the supplier.
