Hudl 2 wont charge, anyone recommend a similar alternative?

Hello all,

I have a hudl 2 and lately when we plug it in to charge it lights up for a few seconds and the welcome screen comes on and then the light goes off and thats it.

Phoned up the helpline and they just said to hold down a few buttons and turn on etc...that did not work. I am thinking of buying a new battery, maybe that would help? Only had it for a few months.

I have read many things on google with many others with the same problems, no one seems to have any idea how to fix it. I have changed the charging port to no avail. SO thinking of just buying a new tablet, so wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable alternative, something that does similar things. Basically just being able to use he internet and take photos, have a few apps on it. Something under £100.00. Any links to amazon or ebay would be great.

Had this with Son's one.

Try *gently* squeezing the Hudl front and back with the charging port between your fingers, so thumb on front, finger on back where the cable goes in the side.

Oddly worked for us and has been fine ever since.

if you have only had it a few months, send it back as surely it should be covered under warranty?

otherwise the lenovo yoga tab 3 might be an interesting idea, slightly different form factor, but has a stupid large battery (hence the different form), but it has a rotating camera on it which i believe is pretty decent 8mp one, ok so the processor isnt super speedy, but its not designed to be the fastest one around, more the marathon runner of the tablets

slightly over your £100 budget at £110 but covered by the argos 12 month warranty,

the yoga 2 tablet (previous gen) is strangely about the same levels of power and has a better screen, but no rotating camera and a lower battery life

It most be more than a few months old as Tesco stopped selling it almost a year ago.

I presume you have tried the 'reset'?. Hold down the power button for about 15 to 20 seconds. If not certainly worth a try. Seems to sort mine.
