Hi

I only just noticed that £13.99 had been taken from my Santander123 cureent account by Ancestry.com via DD !!!!!!

I checked the DD and it states it started on 29/07/16 and i most DEFINITELY did not start/confirm this direct debiticon.

Thus far they have taken £13.99 on 29/07/16 and today 02/09/16 !!!!!!

How do i go about cancelling this, i can not recall using this service !!!!!

I have an excellent credit rating and am more worried about it effecting that.

Also i have no details of an account with them, so would not know how to even 'log in' to cancel it on their site.

Anyone advise.

Thanks

    Ring them up, 0800 404 9723.

Your bank will refund the DD payments under the DD guarantee, and they can cancel the DD (you may well be able to do it yourself in online banking), but you do need to make sure it's cancelled with Ancestry too.
  • Cheers, not sure what they will use as a reference as i have no LOG IN or USERNAME or PASSWORD for Ancestory.com ??

I have been googling and there are a LOT of people who have had this happen !!!

I can easily cancel my DD online, i'll give them a ring now.

    Thanks for the Number..

Did you ever have a free trial with Ancestry? Sometimes people take out the free trial (for which you have to give bank info) and then forget to cancel it.

I certainly have not (unless i did it YEARS ago and have forgot)....

I have checked all my passwords/emails etc and it's not there.

    Very suspicious !!!!
