Taking a Manual Smart Meter Reading

Hi,

Having just sorted out a meter reading anomaly, I thought I'd pass on the mistake I made.

I have the latest gas and electric smart meters provided by E.on in February 2016. I'm in the process of changing provider to Scottish Power and was obviously required to provide meter readings.

The smart meter information blurb will tell you that you no longer need to read from the main meter and to simply use the indoor display meter.

Although this advice is fine for the electricity reading, this is not so for the gas reading with my particular indoor display. This is because the indoor display only shows Kwh, whereas the meter reading required is the cubic meter figure, which is only shown on the main meter.
