Travel insurance with terminal cancer

My dad has a oesophageal cancer with a terminal diagnosis. We've been offered a friend's flat in Italy for a week, and I have booked flights with Avios, so there are no real costs if we cancel. However, we do feel that we need insurance in case he is unwell and needs medical treatment or repatriation.
My mother tells me that so far he has been unable to get any insurance (he keeps saying it won't be a problem...). I've told her to get insurance separately - I'm already covered for European travel.
Are there any insurers who will provide insurance specifically for people with a terminal diagnosis? (He's not due to die for 3-6 months after the planned trip).

There is a list of specialist insurers that might offer cover on this page:

With regard to your own cover, you should declare your dad's condition in case you need to cancel or come back urgently. Although it may increase your policy a fair bit, so it's worth asking for a price and weighing up whether it's worth it or not, it may be cheaper to book any emergency flights/ take the hit on any losses yourself.0 -
I think McMillan have some insurance companies that will consider providing cover for cancer. It's worth checking their website.
Good luck, I hope you can find a way, it will be such a precious holiday for you all.0
