Average life span of a combi boiler

I realise this is a how long is a piece of string question but in our old house we had a 17 year old boiler which was still going strong when we sold the house.
In this house we have an 11 year old Vailliant combi boiler which we want to relocate into the garage. One gas engineer who came to quote suggested we might as well get a new one installed rather than move the old one. Realistically might our current boiler last much longer? It has been annually serviced and works fine. It seems wasteful to replace something that isn't broken.

The average life of a modern boiler is 10-15 years, Glowworm do a lifetime warentee which is in fact 15 yrs, you will prob need a new flue for your boiler if it's moved & this may or may not be still available, if you move the existing boiler then the biggest expense of re-routing the pipework will already be done ready for a new boiler whenever yours isn't cost effective to repair, how long your boiler will last if it's disturbed to be moved is anyone's guess but the cost isn't going to be much less (labour wise) than having a new oneI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
We have a Vaillant Condenser which cost £1600 fitted and was a 'direct' swap for an old BG boiler. I trust the engineer and he said it was a great boiler but a fair life span would be 10 to 15 years. I've read Condenser boilers do not have the same lifespan as the previous types, I don't know. But given your question, I might be tempted into a new boiler. Get some quotes for a move and fit or a new installation? If there isn't much in it...0

I had a Glowworm combo that lasted 17 years and I've replaced it with a Vaillant that I expect will last longer still. I would say 15-20 years is what they should last. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Had a WB that only lasted 9 yrs, & it wasnt a condenser. But like everything else how long is a piece of string as you said.0

I also have a Vaillant combi which is now 13 years old and serviced regularly. I am not planning to replace it quite yet (though I am budgeting for it in the next year or so). I don't need to move mine but, if I did, I would get a new one.0
