Mis-sold, no duty of care shown

My parents who are in their nineties decided to use Everest for some replacement doors and windows. Unfortunately they did all of this before telling the family! The price was extortionate but my parents had agreed to go ahead. They had the items fitted, one door did not match the frame, another exit door was too narrow and threshold too high. There were also other issues, but too much to list here! My parents have limited mobility and a DDA threshold should have been fitted to one of the doors. They were sold self clean glass when it was in a window that was unsuitable for this. After many phone calls and a lot of stress to my parents, they were about to give up trying to resolve issues with Everest and they agreed for us to take over. After many, many phone calls, lies and broken promises, we felt that we were making progress. A new door has been fitted with a lower threshold so that my parents can go out of the door. However, a couple of weeks later they were unable to close and lock the door. Another two weeks later and after threatening to go to their offices, they finally sent a fitter to attend to the door. Still waiting for the other replacement door. Everest constantly lie and break promises. I wish my parents had never used them and would not recommend them under any circumstances. Their after sales support is next to non existent and they do not show any duty of care. Disgusting company.

A Which? survey was conducted which showed people were far more satisfied going with local glass companies and felt they got far better value for money.0
