Public reporting parking

Hello lovely Money Savers,
I hope you can answer my question...
My neighbour reported my mum to the council for parking in our street (it's permit parking). Normally he wouldn't but we've fallen out over the summer so in an effort to grind his axe and get us back this is what he's done.
My question, when I saw him reporting it, I moved my car to allow my mum to park. Will she still get a ticket?
Annoyingly he's not so community spited to anyone else parking during permit times especially his children...
Thanks for any advice.
Jess

I can't say for certain, but i'd expect that, if a Council Enforcement Officer hasn't come out and put a ticket on the windscreen, you'll be ok. Unless there are cameras or otherwise that the council could retrospectively find out that your mum was parked there, they would have no evidentiary basis on which to issue a ticket.0

He took pictures - does that count?

MSE normally only deals with private parking issues, so pepipoo.com is the best place to ask about council parking tickets as they are the experts. They are also the experts on getting unfair tickets cancelled.
Read the pepipoo FAQs first before posting, and if a ticket is received, redact and post both sides there.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

I expect it was bluster. If he did submit the photos (I don't know if they would be acceptable for pursuit - I doubt it, but check with PePiPoo experts) it may get a local CEO excited, if they're short on numbers, to come snooping in the future. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I'd be astonished if his pictures were worth the paper he'd no doubt print them on if it came to pursuit. Where would the "chain of evidence" (for lack of a better term) be?
You don't find many people getting convicted of "This bloke in the pub said..." and nothing more, which is what this equates to.
As Umkomaas said - it might get a council parking bod to take a bit more of an interest in the area for a couple of weeks, but that's about it.0 -

Norris the neighbour's photos are bluff & bluster. He cannot give cause to a PCN in the post. But his complaints might cause the Council to send a CEO round more often.
I once stopped on double yellows (legitimately, as they are not 'no stopping' indicators) to collect my son and his luggage as he alighted a coach from outside the school, opposite. He had heavy luggage after a week-long trip abroad. An elderly lady living by the yellow lines scurried out of her house like a spider after a fly and aimed a camera at me.
I waved and smiled and held up the suitcase and said 'good luck with that...did you not realise that loading/unloading and collecting a child IS allowed on double yellows? Take as many pictures as you like of us loading and my son boarding the car!'
She disappeared back inside, never saw her again.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
