Lease car insurance

Hi all

Strange scenario encountered today, wonder if anyone has any advice?

We are due to take a lease car on 7th Sept. We have contacted our current insurer and they say they will not insure us on it as we will not be the registered keeper of the vehicle.

I knew we would not be the registered owner but surely we are the registered keeper? Anyone shed any light on this? It'll be important when getting insurance quotes to declare these things correctly.

    Usually in the case of a lease car, the lease company (or even a 3rd party finance company) will be the registered keeper. There is no such thing as a registered owner.
