What Do I Put?

Options
I'm wanting to change the account my student loan goes into to my Bank of Scotland account. On the form for changing details from the SLC there is a bit for a building society roll number. Now, on my bank statement there is a roll number so do I put it on, or just put my account and sort code?

The building society roll number isn't used for a bank account (the name sort of gives it away!).
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • I would also suggest that if possible you wait until after this first payment has left your account before you change account details. If you do it now there's a risk the first payment is delayed but if you wait for the first one to get paid out then they have another 3 months or so to process the change of details. No excuse for the payment being delayed then!

That's about 5 pairs of shoes a month i'm missing out on!
  • I was confused because it has a roll number on my statement.

In Scotland the loan is being paid out monthly (grrr, not impressed) but they say that it should take a week to change details so a month is still plenty of time.
