Smart Parking Multiple Tickets

I have read the Newbie post and searched the forums but am still not sure what to do so am hoping for some advice please.
I have 2 PCNs from Smart Parking and am expecting a 3rd tomorrow given the dates on the previous two. Its entirely my fault, I parked in a Matalan car park for longer than allowed on several occasions. I knew the risk but somebody had told me that they weren't ticketing at the moment as this is in a town which is undergoing development and has a lot of temporarily closed car parks and workers and shoppers are struggling to park. Obviously this turned out not to be true. I work in the town and have a busy job which means I have to go in and out during the day and carry a laptop and heavy paperwork. The only carparks available now are further away than the Matalan car park and so for my comfort and convenience I took the risk and parked there. I'm an idiot I know. I did park in the overflow bit which was almost entirely empty and furthest from the shop.
If it was one ticket I'd pay it, learn my lesson and get on with my life but as I'm expecting 3 tickets totalling £150 I'm really wondering if it's worth challenging somehow? Any advice really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Send the blue writing appeal from the NEWBIES thread, one per PCN. That's it for now - it really isn't complicated. Do not add anything - do not say who was driving.
Then search 'Smart POPLA' to see how to appeal to POPLA (second stage) which sends them crawling back under their stone. You will find I'm telling you the truth - it really is that easy - when you search 'Smart POPLA'.
That is, as long as this is not in Scotland?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks a lot for your response, I've found that template. If I do this and then go to Popla am I giving up my right to pay £50 if it's rejected? Could I end up having to pay 3 lots of £85 instead?0

Yes of course, just like with any type of PCN. The 'right' is in fact a bribe not to appeal.Could I end up having to pay 3 lots of £85 instead?
I think you are missing the fact we ALWAYS win at POPLA v Smart.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Forget the mug's discount, you are after the 100% MSE discount. Send the appeal template as advised by Coupon-Mad, one of the country's private parking experts. One appeal per PCN, then wait to see what happens.

Thanks all, just wanted to know how likely a win by appeal is before I risked having to pay £255!0

Once you appeal to POPLA, you lose the right to a discount.
BUT .... Take notice of coupon-mad.
Smart are one those weird companies who simply don't understand.
ASDA SACKED THEM, I am sure many companies will be sacking Smart in the future

You really should be taking the advice of one of the foremost experts on private parking matters in the country. The workload on this forum is phenomenal without having to repeat to cover the querying of expert advice already given.
POPLA appeals against Smart PCNs, supported by the forum, have always ended in the favour of the motorist as in the vast majority of cases Smart withdraw their charge.
The only way you will be told to pay this is by a Judge. You'll be the very first person from over 400,000 tickets issued by Smart in the past 18 months to be issued with court papers.

Forum advice is given freely by people who spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours per year understanding this stuff in order to help people in trouble with private parking charges. If you want to use the expert advice please do so, but don't make it hard for anyone to help. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I think perhaps you need to read my posts again. I'm not questioning anyone's advice. I thanked everyone for their advice. I asked a further question that I hadn't covered in the original question and then thanked them again. That post you quoted wasn't another question, hence the lack of question mark. Coupon-mad, Fruitcake and beamerguy were very friendly and helpful and I appreciate their help and have followed their advice. I'm sure if they were unhappy with anything I said they could say so. There's no need for your very rude and incorrect post.0 -

So, what is the difference if it is in Scotland?
I have received three of these within a very short time period (in Scotland). From reading the Newbie post, it seems like I can ignore them.
It's a retail park, so not as easy to speak to the CEO, etc.0 -

The NEWBIES thread already tells you...it's because you have no 'keeper liability' law (POFA 2012 doesn't apply in Scotland).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
