Hotel is under renovation (4 days before we fly)

My partner and I decided to book a well learnt 10 Nights in Cuba. We have paid around £1200 each for this holiday and we are really looking forward to it.

Today I received a phone call from Thomas Cook informing me that they have just found out today that the hotel we are staying in is having a renovation. Whilst we may not see the renovation we may hear parts of it throughout the day.

My partner is now really stressing at this. Whilst I can try to reassure are we entitled to anything? Upgrade of the flight, change of hotel possibly, or anything along the lines?
We feel we have been told so late on and if we were to have known before we wouldnt of booked as we are after a relaxing holiday.
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

First off check for recent feedback on tripadvisor.... that might give a clue as to what you are facing.

We checked that instantly to see if anything was up as we did not notice it before. Nothing mentioning it.

How much time will you be spending in the hotel during the day anyway? If it's not going to be interfering with your stay then it may not be worth getting too stressed about when it's probably too late to do much about it.

What do you want to happen. If you want a change of hotel have you asked for one?

An upgraded flight won't compensate for any disruption caused by the renovations.

How long ago did you book? Perhaps when you booked the work hadn't started or perhaps they expected it to have finished. Contact Thomas cook and ask if you can swap hotel. Ask them your questions they will have the proper answers for you, each situation is different.

If it's too noisy you can ask to be moved to a quieter room. Or unless you're at the hotel all day you probably wont be effected. I've experienced both & never had a problem.

I'd ask what time in the morning the work will start
