I fly from Newquay or Exeter 3 or 4 times a month. It was more when Plymouth was available. Most of the time these flights are MUCH quicker than by train and certainly those I fly to/from don't require me to be there 90 minutes early.

With a domestic flight, especially if only taking hand luggage, you probably only need to be at the airport one hour before the flight. I really don't mind spending time at an airport waitng for a flight as I'm warm and comfortable. In contrast to my experience at railway stations where there are not enough waiting rooms and too often passengers have to wait on the cold and windy platforms, seated on metal benches!

Two weeks ago I flew from Newquay to Leeds for the weekend on business. Outbound flight was in fact delayed by snow but the return was exactly on time. From venue to home was 3 and a half hours.

    And £33 return!
