MP3 Player

I would like to get an MP3 player for audio books and music, can anyone recommend one that is simple to use, I'm not very good with technology!

Depends on the features you want.

Simple one with no screen. and 4 buttons? power, stop/play forward and backwards? Or a touchscreen that displays the track title and image etc etc?

Budget £5 or less or ££££+?

    I had the same thought:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Clip-Sport-MP3-Player/dp/B00HCMZ0OK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472663173&sr=8-1&keywords=sandisk+clip

My Mum has one of these and Clip+ and she likes them, they can be set to mass storage so you just drag your music and podcasts straight onto them plus you can browse the files on the device rather than use tags.

Thank you for your replies. I don't want anything fancy, just as simple as possible!

A PIONEER XDP-100R is the best money can buy. But it's overkill for audiobooks.

You're better off getting a Kindle Fire HD. The real thing you want is the audible app -which is tailor made for audio books. Sansa clip and others are made for music - not pausing and playing from various audio books.

This, I've got a couple here and they work well, are tiny and have a great battery life for the size (about 10+ hours).

A high-res DAP or a Kindle tablet?!? I know where you are coming from with both but yes for someone who wants high quality music or just wants to listen to audio books, but for someone looking for an MP3 player that's simple to use and says nothing about lossless music?

I'd echo the comments about trying the SanDisk Sansa Clip/Clip Jam, as they are pretty cheap and basic, and will remember the last played position, which is handy if you are in the middle of a book.

I listen to both music and audio books on my clip+

I agree that it's not optimal for jumping around between audio books (you can lose you place on one if you switch to another, and it will be annoying to find your point again). But if you listen to one book and stick with it to the end, then the clip is just fine.

It also has support for different Audio Book providers - http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7320/~/transferring-and-listening-to-audiobooks-on-a-sansa-player
