Uber account problem

In June 2015, I set up an Uber account on my phone with credit card etc. I never actually used it until recently on a night out when I tried to summon a cab but the app kept saying my card had been declined. Actually, this was correct because the registered card had expired.

Anyway, I went to try and update the registered card on the account to a new one but there was no option within the app to allow me to do so. Eventually, I decided to reinstall the app to enter a new card number but they seemed to be completely rejecting my account.

I then went on to the site and concluded my account must be suspended.

So, I went on to Uber and entered the details to request it be reactivated, whereupon they send you an email to confirm your address.

They keep saying I'm emailing from the wrong address (in spite of my account being full of their stupid promotions). They've asked me to confirm the 'correct' email address but I don't know what they're talking about because I've got no other email address registered with them???

So, because my problem doesn't come under their set categories, the problem therefore doesn't exist and they're now ignoring me!

I can't even delete the account which my phone number is connected to because I have to log into Uber but I can't log in.

I've tried resetting the Uber password but after entering the email address I use, Uber don't send me a reset link??

Needless to say, I now can't contact anyone about the issue because the problem doesn't exist under their FAQ.

    Whilst trying to signup to the Vodafone forum some years back the confirmation email never arrived, tried many times and still nothing.
    Nothing in the spam or blocked folders etc.

    Swapped the email address and no issues, (AOL back then). Signed up using a yahoo account and worked first time.

    Spam filtering isn't all visible. Some mail providers are absolute !!!!!!s for binning stuff without telling either sender or recipient.

    Are you looking at the GMail website, or downloading via IMAP etc?
    If on the website, then have you checked the social and promotion tabs?

    On the gmail website. I don't even know what IMAP is.

    I think they're deliberately ignoring me because other messages from them which I mentioned in the OP got through.

    If I can, then fine, but my phone number is connected to this account. Will Uber let me create a new account with the same phone number?

    Whenever I tried to contact uber in the belief my account was suspended, they kept replying that I was using the wrong email address. I'm certain I was using the correct address.

    Anyway, I tried emailing Uber from another email account, which I thought might be the one on their database though I don't remember using it.

    Uber are now saying the problem is resolved and I just have to reset my password by clicking on their link, which I did but there's no new password.

    This is all highly incompetent of them and strange. It almost feels like they wanted me to give up my other email address - the email I use for most of my buying activity.
