When I applied for a mortgage around 6 months ago, the bank wanted a 15% deposit. I need to get this down to 10% to give me any hope of getting on the property ladder.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I have paid off a 3.5k loan, a fridge freezer and carpets but is there any other advice with regards to what other things they may be looking at?

It depends why the bank wanted a larger deposit. Higher risk customer and/or affordability?
Try a different lender, use a mortgage broker if you're not sure which other lenders to try.0 -
