I hate Armtrac and I don't want to give them my money

Options
I got a parking charge invoice this weekend - my ticket expired by 40 minutes - it was my fault, I lost track of time on the beach.

But having read about these people and how absolutely awful they are the thought of lining their pockets makes me feel sick. Even the 'discounted' charge of £60 is absolutely extortionate.

Given that they're in the IPC and I was clearly in the wrong, is it worth appealing when the only real grounds are the charge far exceeding the landowner's loss? I don't want to go through the anxiety of waiting for them to contact me just in case they screw up on the rules for the NTK.

So I will probably hand over the money but I just wanted to rant about it here. Given how angry I am about this I can't imagine how it must feel to be done over by these guys when there is clear evidence of injustice.

    Do not pay.

Read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the IPC template letter you will find there. Copy and paste. Do not reveal the driver's details under any circumstances.

By the way, do NOT pay.

Yes. it is certainly worth appealing as the so called "Independent" Adjudicator's decision will be unsigned, perverse, and so weighed in favour of the PPC as to be worthless.

It is thought that the PPC would be reluctant to have it seen by a judge, and therefore the PPC would be unlikely to take this to court. Do expect both threatening and begging letters though,

Why therefore pay them a penny, you owe them nothing but a few bob for parking near a beach.

    Who thinks that?

  • Just a little funny story (well I thought so).

Had my cousin over to sunny Cornwall, for a few beers and a curry.

Was telling him (boring him) about the parking world, and he tells me that "he drinks with a bloke from Helston who made a fortune out of wheelclamping....."

    Nearly chocked on me'popadom

Why? what are you worried will happen?
is it worth appealing when the only real grounds are the charge far exceeding the landowner's loss?

Why do you think the single point that you CANNOT possibly argue or win on (no loss) is 'real grounds'? It is not something you can use, what made you think that had legs, these days? What about all the actual grounds to appeal or defend, that win cases every week?

Anyone who just pays is supporting the scumbags and funding the next couple of PCNs. Don't do that. If no-one paid, if the naive and stupid UK public had sussed out and never paid parking tickets from private firms, none of them would have survived till now. People who just pay 'for an easy life' have a lot to answer for, especially if they've come to a forum, realised the scam yet still pay.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
