HTB and what other account?

I want to open a HTB with the £1000 deposit and make maximum monthly payments but also I need the best account type to deposit a further £200-400 a month over 4-5 years, I am currently with Lloyds, is it worth switching banks and if so which saving accounts are best.

Comments

  • If would recommend a regular saver to deposit a set amount each month.

There are some that pay 6% interest so you can get a good rate as well. However these top accounts high interest rates usually only last for one year so remember to change when the rate drops.

You don't need to switch banks, you can have as many current accounts as you can get accepted for.
Are you getting 4% with Lloyds? If not consider upgrading to Club when you have £4000.

    Current best rates are here.
Keep monitoring rates and be prepared to move if you can get better rates elsewhere - which is almost certain over the course of 5 years.
