Excel Parking Services - Parking Charge Notice

Hi, just after some advice. Today I got issued with a Parking Charge Notice from Excel Parking. I had arrived at a car park was turning around because there were no spaces, when a lady that had purchased a ticket, tapped my window and said I could park behind her, so technically double parking. She wouldn't be returning to her car till 8pm tonight. I thanked her, went and got a ticket and left my car. 2 hours later returned to find the notice on my window stating I was obstructing another vehicle. I understand that the patrol officer wouldn't have known that I'd spoken to the other owner. My question is should I email Excel and say I won't be paying it or are they within their rights to issue it. I'm mad at myself that I never even gave it a thought that they would issue me with a ticket for that. I left a note on the ladies car with my contact details. It's sad that a goodwill gesture by somebody has ended in me getting a £60 fine 😡.

Same as every IPC parking charge. See the NEWBIES thread, wait for the Notice to Keeper in the post in a month or so, then send the usual appeal as 'registered keeper'. We assume this is your car, not leased or a company/hire car? Wait for the first letter then, with IPC companies.
DO NOT tell Excel who was driving because that's the one piece of the jigsaw they are desperate for, and will not have.
Read the sticky thread and learn what will likely happen (they will NOT cancel). You will be ignoring debt demands, then you will get BW Legal letters which are all over this forum and will need a response, to fight off the plan of them suing you. This is defendable and not as scary as it sounds and not all cases go to a hearing anyway (and there is no CCJ as long as you defend and keep to deadlines, we will help).
They will NOT cancel this and you need to read BW Legal threads to be forewarned.
We are NOT telling you to join their little game and pay £60...otherwise YOU are funding the next 'fake PCN' demand against a little old lady, a struggling family, etc. The entire industry is rotten, this is nasty but not something to support by paying up in a panic.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
