Connecting printer wirelessly

Not sure what I have done, can't get my HP 5010 printer to work.
The blue wireless button is flashing on the printer, and says it is not connected. I have tried holding down the WPS button on the modem, but that is not making any difference. The status on my laptop says its offline.
Is there something really simple that I am overlooking?
Thanks

Yes, but I have not used it for a while and I think the modem may have been replaced since. Would this make a difference?0

You would be easier putting in the setup disk and running the setup installer again if you've changed router.
Saves faffing around with settings if you don't know how to manually do it.0 -
Stupid things wireless printers. Needed to print something out really quickly but the stupid thing didnt work. Refused to connect to the network.
Had to leave without my documents. Several days later the little one switched it on to print something and it spat out all my documents.

If you prefer a cable, use a cable.
OP, I agree with jshm2 that the easiest option is to reinstall, I have to do it occasionally with mine and it just takes a few minutes.0 -
I use a Samsung CLP-315W which also has ethernet and USB ports. I've found that if the wifi connection is lost for any reason or the router changed etc. it's a simple matter to connect it with a temporary ethernet cable then get into the setup webpage. A static IP address helps as well. Another technique is to add it as a device to your router using its MAC address then reboot the router and it will find it and add it without needing to know the IP address. Once working, print out the network details from the printer setup page then you know the IP and MAC addresses for next time.0
