Returning A Used Car Under Warranty

Hi
On 12/08/2016 I collected a 2011 Audi A4 Avant 1.8 TFSI with 62k on the clock.
I bought the vehicle from a well known national franchised dealership.
I have since found that the car is consuming a disproportionate amount of oil (since collection the car has done 1400 miles and I've had to put 3ltr of oil in).
I've done some research (research I wish I'd done earlier!) and there is a well recorded oil consumption issue with the 2.0 model of the same year, so much so that Audi eventually acknowledged the issue and were rectifying issues free of charge. Some people it would seem have also experienced the issue with the 1.8 model.
I intend to return the vehicle later this week under the 3 month warranty it came with however I am anticipating a luke warm response ( I accept that I might be pleasantly surprised) and being informed that this information was available to me prior to buying the car had I bothered to research the vehicle.
My query is this, am I in a reasonable position to claim that the vehicle is not fit for purppse given that the oil consumption issue was clearly there at the point of purchase? I accept that a buyer should do some due diligence about a vehicle prior to buying, which I believe I did, I only read the oil consumption issues when I researched that specific problem. Thing is, I actually like the car and don't want a refund, I want the issue fixing but know it could be a 4-5k bill so don't expect a sympathetic dealer.

If they rectify the issue are you happy to keep the car?0 -

If, as you say, you are claiming a full refund under 'under the 3 month warranty', then you will first need to read the warranty documentation to establish whether that is even possible.
If however you wish to reject the car under terms afforded by The Consumer Rights Act, then perhaps you should read MSE's Consumer Rights article. In this case, be quick - you have thirty days from delivery to do this.0 -
Definitely, if the problem could be fixed I'm very happy to keep the car.0
