Soft hold baggage recommendation?

Going on a 30 day trip to S America, part 'adventure' group tour part independent. The tour co recommend bringing 'soft' luggage as obviously it can be easier from their viewpoint to load into a minibus. I've only ever used hard suitcases for longer holidays and at 68 don't want to be struggling moving a bag about when I'm on my own . I'm thinking of a holdall type( about 80 l capacity) with built in wheels/handle as a compromise, but don't really understand why the large price differences I've found for apparently similar products eg there's an argos 80l one for £12.99 . Anyone recommend anything?

Have you checked to see how heavy an 80 litre bag or pack will be when full? Are you sure you want or are able to lug this much around for a month?
Would it be preferable to wear the bag as a backpack at least some of the time?
Have a look at the Osprey website to get a feel for the variations of style, comfort, features and functions available. They are top of the market (£100 to £200 and beyond) but they are one of the benchmark brands by which others may be measured.
