Wow, many thanks for your extensive reply and glad you see it from my perspective too.

I've never been one to trust probably anyone, but insurers are very low on my list. Thankfully I've never had reason to make a claim before, and completely regretting choosing esure now, and I promise it's an error I will never repeat and I really just want to stop others making the same mistake. I never go with the cheapest, I try to get decent value and while I didn't read all the policy wording, I compared the cover and excesses and general terms and thought I was going with a decent cover. The defaqto ratings only take into account whats on offer with the cover, but it's useless if you can't make a claim.

That's the other thing the drainage people have even said "you clearly don't abuse your drains" and I don't. I look after everything I own, I try to be careful and don't put wipes or fat etc down the drains, never have. They know it's the wrong decision, and I know it. They're trying it on and picked on the wrong person. They are a necessary evil, and esure are just a bit more evil. I hope bad things for their company!

I can't reveal anymore specific info as this is still ongoing, but with a bit of luck I might be in the papers soon with my story, I've been sent some stuff to sign. They will only take notice of bad publicity or lost revenue, and if I can (quite rightly deservedly so) help with either of those, I'll feel some kind of justice was done. They caused this, they put me in this position so I have zero sympathy for them.

    Thanks again!
  • Esure have eight weeks from your first expression of dissatisfaction to them to respond to your complaint.

If they fail to do so within that time, or they make a response which tells you that you have six months to go to the Financial Ombudsman Service you can then do just that. Obviously if you are happy with your response you need not bother to go to FOS.
