Don't let them do it bc if they fence off and tend, after 12 years they can claim it 😱

Lots to think about now, thanks peeps

First job is to get quotes for prices.
Getting a gardener in isnt an option...see my sig!
The back garden is approx 75' X 100'.....huge to me
And no, most of the garden is tidy generally. And if the tree were nearer my house, it would still be the same. I had no money to sort it before regardless of its position! Priority's had to be made and tbh, getting my roof fixed took top spot!

OK, garden that size, no money for gardener, fussy neighbours ...

I wouldn't consider renting them part of the garden. I'd want to refer them to the response in Arkell v Pressdram, but would bite my tongue and avoid it. Depending on the state of the unkempt bit I might start waxing lyrical on the benefits of providing habitat for wildlife. Or you just get a fit of honesty and tell them as non confrontationally as you can that what you do with your tree and your garden isn't any of their business.

My garden has 6' fence all the way round, they live in a bungalow! Only way they can see state of my garden is either peering over fence or whilst up a ladder!!
