IVA / Public Liability insurance
Hi I am currently in the first 6months of my IVA, I am self employed but only part time in the construction industry. One of my clients is insisting on me having Public Liability insurance which I am really struggling to get accepted for. I have now tried probably 10 companies or brokers.
Does anyone have any advice or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

My OH has completed his IVA now. While he was in it his broker had no problems with providing cover but was unable to offer direct debit. He managed to pay in full as it was less than £50 for the year. I think he found them on Google but was only the 2nd/3rd company he tried.0

Try 'Hiscox'. That's who I use for my EL & PL insurance.0

Thanks for all the reply's, I was eventually offered PL cover up to £2 million for approx £400 for the year from Arthur J Gallagher Ins Brks Ltd. The actual Insurance company is Allianz.
The general feedback was that the difficulty was because I had only just gone into the IVA.0 -
I am 4 years into an IVA.
Myself and my wife have started a small vending franchise hoping to save some cash long term for the kids to go to university.
Had a nightmare getting liability insurance but was offered cover through two brokers:
insurable - very helpful and quoted £275
saleinsurance - also very helpful and quoted £355
Both these sites deal with IVA, bankrupts and people with convictions.
I hadn't realised that this would be a problem, even now I am struggling to understand how been in an IVA and having my finances under control makes me more of a risk for liability insurance.
Hope this helps anyone looking for this type of cover in the future.0
