edicky ~ thank you for further advice.
Westin ~ mum has just looked at T&C's and it is Hoteltopia. So, what would these mean? How can we find out if the contract was with them or if they were acting as an agent? I kind of assumed the contract was with EJ. But don't know a massive amount about this stuff.
hollydays ~ They have a really high rating. My mum said the hotel itself was beautiful and general staff very nice but it was reception staff that were just appalling. She complained about the room every day and eventually when they saw her they would disappear in the back room. This did upset her as she was there to enjoy her holiday not to deliberately try to make a nuisance of herself or complain for the sake of it. When she'd phone me, I could tell she was unhappy. Maybe you are just treated badly when you are in the minority of having a complaint? I don't know.
Thing is, there response to the complaint (the EJ) emailed back was just full of lies and EJ have just accepted what they have said as fact (i.e. the bites were old mosquito bites, well, not according to her GP they weren't), or that she only complained on the first and last day of her stay, when it was every day. The receptionist even joked that she must have sugary blood and that's why they want to bite her... but then they claim these were old bites.
Thans for the tip on the review. I was thinking along those lines myself.
Also, the phone number they said she could have called, was a UK number that she tried twice but was permanently engaged with a 30 min wait. She was told by the hotel that she could wait but it would be put on her bill and then told she can't wait as it would tie the line up.0 -
If they were just on her legs, sounds like mosquito bites rather than bed bugs, were there any bites anywhere else ?0
