Hi all,
Im currently trying to clear debt so i am thinking ahead here.
I just wanted some advice as to how to plan for retirement.
I am a bit overwhelmed with all the information out there.
I will end up with state pension of course.
however i do want to retire as early as i can, i have a disabled child and i know he will need more care as i get older.
I have a workplace pension which was only just started in January this year.
Where do people save for retirement. Is it all pension funds. Is it in savings accounts?
Help

Well being in your workplace pension is a very good start because you contribute, your employer contributes and so does the tax man. So you have done the right thing by not opting out.0

Have a look at http://www.pensionsadvisoryservice.org.ukThe comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

You have been given information about your employer's pension scheme?
Which workplace scheme is it?
You will not be able to draw you state pension until you reach the appropriate age but it may be possible to access your employment scheme around ten years earlier than this.
If you are caring for a disabled child there may be benefits that you will be able to claim.
As you pay down debt, start saving an emergency fund.
