Phone line activation

I have just rented an office and there is definitely phone lines. It hasn't been used for a while and i am not sure if the line has been deactivated. I will need internet access almost immediately when moving in. I get the keys on the 1st and hope to operate on the 5th. Does anyone know how long it takes to reactivate a line or whether it will most likely be easy? Because i have read it can take up to 2 weeks
