What have / will you spend today? Friday 14 September

Hi guys

Thought i'd start off today if no-one minds, save lovely PAP, Moozie and Rog the effort! Hope you're all having a lovely Friday - It's nearly weekend!

I've yet to grab the vitamins i've been meaning to buy all week, and am going to pop to Sainsburys for some ham / rolls for lunch before we drove up North to our folks for the weekend. £10 max. OH is treating myself and his sister to dinner this evening, but am intending to be good and healthy and non-drinking, to save his wallet stretching too far!

    Hi bobbadog, and everybody,:hello: :hello:

Thanks for starting today's thread - I was looking for it, and was just thinking about starting it, when along you came. :T :A :T

Anyway, I'm really glad you started it, because I'm feeling a bit down today - I waited ALL DAY YESTERDAY (:angry: ) for the promised telephone call about the job interview that I attended on Tuesday. Nobody Phoned.
This morning, I have received a two-line email stating that
' Thank you for attending the interview.......we are not in a position to make you an offer of employment at this time and wish you good luck for the future'.

And - while I've got this 'strop' on - I STILL don't like the new names.

Oh well - back to the drawing Board. :wall: :wall:

ANYWAY - back to the Spends - I will not be spending anything today - I'm preparing 'stuff' for a car boot sale tomorrow (My what exciting lives we lead:rolleyes: )

So Good luck to everyone else - 'Keep the Spends Low'.

£2.10 on parking  Hate paying for a piece of concrete daily!
£4.00 on jobs paper and home magazine - I'm nesting even though we don't move for two weeks today.

£40 on petrol  hate that too even though I'm using less than ever.

Hi pbr - can't see how I missed out the word 'not' - must be my never ending optimism. :rolleyes2 :rolleyes2
To be honest, I'm not particularily upset about this 'knockback' - I'm getting used to it, but they don't usually get to the interview stage. At the interview, they were full of 'you're exactly the type of person we're looking for' - and the importance they placed on the PERSONAL side of life.
So why just an impersonal email.

Perhaps that's why - they're embarrassed. So sorry it didn't work out, but I'm sure it just takes you a step nearer to the perfect job. Sorry to hear you're having a pooey time at the mo.

Still nesting for new house and made the mistake of visting Woolworths while they still have their sale on. Scourers £1, tomato plants £7.99 down to £1, crockpot £12 down to £4, plant pots £7.98 down to £1.56.

    Additional £7.56 to add! :o
  • Going against all my principles about mooching around in shops and planning a visit to Ikea after work for no reason other than I haven't been for ages!!! I never usually get out without spending at least £50 so pray for me!!
