windows 10 link opening problems

I am running windows 10 with the latest anniversary update and Microsoft outlook 2007


when I click a link in an outlook message I get the message
How do you want to open the app with
microsoft edge
internet explorer or look for an app
it says tick box for the default browser


I have set internet explorer as my default browser and when I connect to the internet explorer starts but I still have the problem with outlook express
can anyone help please

    Outlook Express disappeared after XP but it is possible if you have the outlook express.exe that you can run it in XP mode, see if that works.

    type default app in the search/cortana [ask me anything]
    then change default programs
