Where does it give details of the websaver at 5.75%?

I can't see anything about it on their website - just the savings account at 5.25%.

If you opened a websaver account with ING, select the screen for that account from list on the summary ('My Accounts) page. Each account shows the current rate at the top when selected.
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
  • I went back to my old ING websaver account and discovered it is now 5.75% AER. There are no details about this account on the site as it is an 'old' account and not available to new applicants.

Mine had nothing in it but I contacted a 'very helpful man' at ING who re-opened it for me - as I hadn't used it for a year I had lost the link to transfer money to my bank - and it is now working fine.

Not sure whether to put money back in there but it's good to know at least it's now 5.75% if I want to.

I also checked if they had anything new to offer and he said it is the best ING instant access account they have at the moment (but only for people who opened one originally.)
  • Well, when interest rates start falling, then I'd agree with ING, that I'd want rates to remain consistent instead of changing all the time, but somehow I think they will decide that customers do deserve to have the rate changes passed on to them after all.

I am being (possibly naively) optimistic that because they have only been in the mortgage market for a short time, they are less likely to find themselves up the swanee like N/Rock and various others who have lent beyond their savings fund capacity.

I'm hoping my inertia will pay off on this occasion. Pass the humble pie, someone :D .
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

I recall when I openned my ING account when they first started up, the publicity said "how do I know this is not just an introductory rate that's not going to stay competitive?" "Don't worry, our low cost internet accounts will mean we can always offer the best rates blah blah"

Looking back I wonder if we could have brought a class action against them based on this lie?

Or would they have claimed that 'best rates' was non-quantifiable?......... the loathesome, patronising bunch..........

Dutch weren't they? -- (still are, to some).......
I mention this as I have an amusing Dutch neighbour who said to me last week:- "You know, we have a reputation for taking a lot & giving little....I can't imagine where it came from, can you :) ?!"
