Faulty new phone battery?

Yesterday, I got the battery replaced on my Sony Xperia Z3. Which is 18 months old
I put my phone on charge and it shows 100% charge then remove the charger and its 36-38%.
Why does my phone do this?
Tried different cables, usb adapters and plug points.
Earliest I can take phone back to shop where battery was replaced is Tuesday and they have to order it. Independent phone repair and accessories shop.

Make sure you get a genuine Sony battery. I've tried generic batteries in my Nokia and got the same effect you describe.0

Could be a fault with the battery. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a fake. But I would refrain from further excessive charging just to be on the safe side. Take it back but maybe phone on Monday to tell them the issue.0
