I think if i use a cable finder and tone generator it will be easier as i will just have to attach the cables from the wall and check the other end with the probe. That way i wont have to keep connecting and disconnecting at the control panel.0

Simply pick one of the 6 cored cables at the control box end and then choose 2 of the inner wires from this cable and connect one of the meter leads to each of these cables. (red and black for example).
Have the meter set to give an audible tone (if the meter has this facility) then go around the house and on each cable you find, touch the red and black wires together.
As soon as you find the correct cable, you will hear the bleep from the meter.
Doing it this way, you don't need a very long test lead for the meter and you can easily do the job by yourself.0 -

The tone generator will only work if the cores between cables aren't connected together at any point i.e. the control panel or elsewhere. If they are, you will find it difficult to trace each cable individually.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
