Windows mail problem

I use Outlook 2013 for my main email accounts, and that all works fine.

Having acquired a few other email accounts that I only check occasionally, I thought I would set one up in the default Windows 10 mail app.

I go through the "Add Accounts" dialogue, the app tells me it's happy, but then simply asks me to set up an account! If I try adding the account again, it tells me it already exists. The "Ready to go" button is disabled.

How do I get past that screen? FYI, I use a local account for logging into Windows. Do the apps require a Windows account?
