Home page is 'start page'-since updating u torrent new tabs default to yahoo??!

Hi all,

Wonder if you knowldgable folk can advise. I use firefox & when I boot up I've set 'start page' (due to it keeping data more secret & no tracking) as my default home page. I've recently updated 'u torrent' & all additional tabs/windows I open are now Yahoo????! Any idea how I change this so each new tab is startpage??! Also-on boot up I get an annoying box saying'do you want to run this programme' for u torrent '-obviously I click cancel but a tad annoying. Any ideas? I run windows xp on 2 bit-any help would be great! I'm out now until 4pm so can't reply until then but any advice?

You'll have forgotten to untick something that's come bundled with utorrent. To change your homepage go into Firefox - Options, and the general section (if I recall) you'll see options to change there.

I'm not sure about the other thing, maybe someone else knows. And it would be remiss of me not to suggest an upgrade to XP? Or even to switch the machine to Linux, someone else could advise that.

And drop utorrent, qbittorrent is much better, and it doesn't come bundled with rubbish that changes your settings.

Just changing your homepage back won't be enough to get rid of the advertising malware on your computer. Run the adware remover available here to get rid of all traces of it:

And yes, uninstall uTorrent, it's become malware at this point. qbittorrent or Tixati are great alternatives that are very similar.

And every time FF updates you may have to re-do the home page as I did which is why I changed to Slimjet.
You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.
