I know this is a naive question but....
My iPhone has simply stopped working, out of the house and next to the router at home. Trying to access websites, the message I get is 'Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server' or 'There is a problem with network connection'. I've switched the phone off and left it for a while, I'm not behind with my DD and I've plenty of MB left of my monthly allowance.
Who is at fault (it can't be the websites as I can't get on any) - my provider O2, Safari or Apple? - and what do I do to correct it all and get back to normal? TIA

Maybe re-post on the mobiles board or the techie one?
You aren't really clear when you say 'not working' and then say that it won't connect to websites.
Does it work as a phone?
Do you have another browser you could use?
Do other apps work?

Not working intended to say I can't contact anything on the internet.
Works as a phone, yes; no, just Safari; just one which is a calculator.0 -

WiFi is green, not in Airplane mode. Router reference is ticked.0 -
Turning airplane mode on and off 3 times can sometimes fix these problems.0

Reset network settings.
Settings - general - reset - reset network settings.
Reset your router (it doesn't matter if every other device you own is working it could still be an issue with the router. It was a very common issue with the iPhone 4).
If that doesn't work do a full restore via iTunes.
If that doesn't work I imagine it's a hardware issue and you'd be better off taking it to apple.Sigless0 -
TY for all your help, everything is now working OK

I'm not entirely sure as I'm hopeless at techie matters. I switched it off completely for a while during which I got on to O2's community which I had to join. Switched it back on and following some suggestions I clicked on some buttons in Settings etc and found that it was now working OK. At home anyway.0

I had exactly the same issue for about an hour yesterday morning, possibly a Safari app issue.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0
