Judgement for claimant - Excel parking

Options
Advice needed posting on behalf of my disabled pensioner father.
He has failed to tell me in April 2015 he rec'd a parking ticket. Basically he has a pacemaker and was having chest pains so pulled in to the car park for 10-15 mins until they eased, never got a ticket ( as got a blue badge).
He has received various letters from excel parking. Then Bw Legal then a claim form from County court business centre Northampton. All of which he ignored and failed to show me.
He has now received a judgement for claimant and it states if ignored goods can be removed from your house which has frightened him hence he has now shown me all the letters.
What and is there anything we can do as he is really stressed and can't afford the £260 they are demanding he has a court date, will get one? Will bailiffs come?

There will be no court date - Excel have already obtained a default judgment. There is the possibility of getting the judgment set aside and having the case heard properly in some circumstances.
There are better brains than mine on this subject, so wait for further advice.

It may also be worth posting this in the private parking forum on pepipoo.com as well.

This is not about parking, this as about ignoring a court summons. All the information you require is in the public domain. read some of this.

No, it's the aftermath and discovering if it was BWLEGAL who sent that letter will indeed give you more power to the letter you say you are sending to the SRA

I agree TD. With no disrespect to the original poster and the predicament his/her father finds himself in, this has progressed well beyond the parking ticket. It could have just as easily been a default judgment for not paying a plumber for work done on the house - no one would come to this forum for that, but it's no different.

Our 'expertise' lies in helping people to avoid paying parking charges to private parking companies, not how to dispute court awarded costs. The BWL explosion we are experiencing currently is placing an unrealistic expectation on forum regulars, and I for one don't have sufficient knowledge to feel comfortable offering advice that could inadvertently place the poster in the way of significant costs.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You do go on. Does it matter? He held the court in contempt.

Lets not go off track in this thread with point-scoring here.

We don't know the full picture here with the OP's father - it's possible that he did not fully appreciate what was going on, for whatever reason, so lets not go making statements about "holding the court in contempt" or whatever.
