Insurance search false alarm

I looked on MoneySuperMarket.com a few weeks ago, and there was a car insurance quote to start 1st September 2016, but there was a blue label:
"We've automatically created this renewal quote to save you time"
The new Noddle report for August turned up today, and there were SEVEN new searches in early August that I didn't know about.
Took me ten minutes to put the two together, from the date.
Probably not an issue, as it's for insurance, but it could mean I miss a fraudulent application mixed in in the middle of it.
Just thought I should flag it up, in case the comparison sites are putting searches on credit files and causing problems for other people.
