Morning everyone,
Thanks for the thread Dumpling your DD sounds a real smasher, hope school is better for her.
Welcome TopsyMum :j
Hey TA glad your enjoyed your holiday, like Gers have never been to the IOW but between you, Jackie & Islandmaid am seriously tempted, does sound wonderful.
Dry and bright here, the farmer turned up at just gone 8 to plough the field next to the house, last year he left it until the spring so wonder if he's doing a winter crop this time.
Spoke to Mum a couple of times yesterday, the tablets had helped with the pain but she still felt pretty rough so had put my brother off and will see how she feels today. I offered to pop over to see her but she said that she kept going to lay in the bed so obviously needed the rest. Just hopes she feels up to the family get together tomorrow, spoke to my Uncle last night and everyone is looking forward to seeing her.
Not loads planned for today, Archers omnibus after breakfast and then need to make my desserts for tomorrow, other than that the time is my own.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Hi everyone,
We had torrential rain in the night which kept waking me up because it was thundering on the velux windows. We're still at the Yorkshire house but planning to leave tonight.
It's three weeks today until we leave to drive to Italy for DS' wedding. They are doing the legal bit the day before in Cambridge but want to keep that very low key so that Italy remains the focus. I hope everything goes well as they've had a few setbacks, with Brexit increasing the cost and the terrible earthquake not too far away - those poor people, the scenes on TV are heartbreaking.
Well done to Dumpling's DD and Jackie's grandsons and anyone else who passed exams.
Coxy I hope DH has some luck soon.
Lainey, take care of yourself as well as your mum.0 -
Morning all,
Bit overcast here this morning too, I still have yesterdays washing out
so will need to get that in before hanging todays lot out !
Yesterday we cut the wisteria back a the front of the house, we have had pigeons nesting in It for two years now and the weight has pulled the plant and support away from the wall and it was hanging over the garden, it looks much better now, we also got rid of all the rubbish in the car port so that looks much tidier now, lovely Roger will be here Tuesday to cut the hedge and do the lawn so it should look much nicer.
Today I am doing to start de - cluttering in the house we seem to have a lot of 'stuff' which we never use so I am going to start getting rid, I hate clutter of any sort but OH seems to love it !
Dinner today will be burger in a bun with wedges and salad, OH can be in charge to cooking today.
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Morning, Just, (((((((((( hugs ))))))))))) if you need one.
Late up again this morning, but nothing spoiling. We had visitors for coffee, I knew they were coming, did not know when, so now we can relax for the afternoon.
Veg all done and prepped for supper, pork and roasted courgette, spuds, a few climbing beans and some french beans, cauli and carrot. Banana for dessert.
We had a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, when OH got up from his rest I went to bed and slept for an hour and a half, the rain woke me blattering on the windows, lightening and thunder. Does not seem to have done much for the garden except refresh it a bit, I did manage to pull a couple of weeds out whilst I was picking veg.
No plans for today or tomorrow. I will change the bed and do a couple of loads of laundry in the hope that it will dry. Will also clean our bedroom and the toilet, forget the bathroom till its finished.
Sun keeps coming and going, some rain clouds in the distance......we may well have another downpour this afternoon.0 -
A late afternoon one from me. This morning I did a small fast wash and got some Tshirts out on the line. The day began to look sunny so we drove up to Oban hoping for a folk music session in a cafe there - no musicians turned up in the hour and a half we were there!
So, we walked around a gloriously hot and sunny Oban, bought ice-creams and sat watching the ferries in the harbour. Now we're back at my place and my friend has gone for a walk whilst I've cut the back lawn and had a cup of tea. I'll take the car round to where she's walking to make sure that 1) she's not lost and 2) she's OK as she had keyhole surgery on one of her knees two weeks ago.
No pizza tonight but I suspect there will be wine.

Hi all, late posting from me today.
Welcome to Topsy Mum
We went to the good food show at Hampton court today with my DSis, BIL, niece and nephews plus my Mum. We had a family ticket which gave us entrance to the house plus the food show. Saw a demo by Lisa Faulkner - boy can she waffle on, but DS2 wants to cook the cake she made so all good.
Will probably just do toasties for tea as have been nibbling all day! Ironing pile to tackle later with the corrie catch up on the eye pad.
Have a good evening all.
