I would- with mine I got a free 18-25 student railcard- I saved a fortune on train fares! Also they do discount cards for 100s of chain restaurants and food joints- its worth looking around and seeing what each bank's student account offers

Also she still has the choice of not using her overdraft, however most student ones offer an interest free overdraft which means it's not so drastic if she does need to dip in. In most cases a student account only turns into a graduate account 2 years after you've graduated, meaning you have a fair amount of time once you're in work to sort out your overdraft and get into a better position financially.
