hi - im new to the forum (and ebay) but need some help on an issue i have
just a little over a month ago i purchased an item on ebay. after short usage the item developed a fault, i contacted the seller who has been very helpful and arranged to collect the faulty item and send me a replacement - this was 2 wks ago.
i asked the seller for an update who has informed e that they still haven't received the item back - but as soon as they do they will provide me with a replacement.
my question is - what d i do if they still haven't received it back in a few days - or they are lying to me? i dont have a tracking number to check whether the seller is telling the truth as the collection was arranged by the seller.
please advise how i should proceed

You've been left without a leg to stand on. Just have to hope the seller is honest0 -
I dont understand? i have all the messages from the seller, and am happy to provide these. How do i get my money back as im really worried now?
Perhaps if i ask the seller for the tracking details - this would help?0 -
Go to your "My eBay" and see if you can start a SNAD case against the seller. (you can do this I think for up to 30 days after eBays estimated arrival date)
It's also possible that you may be able to lodge a claim through Paypal.0 -
Pierre........ Both those options will result in the OP being asked to return the item to the seller, and a refund being issued when an attempt at delivery can be shown. At this point the latter isn't possible.
OP, unless the seller says it arrives and then refunds you, you're stuffed.
Always send returns back tracked, to avoid situations like this.
What was the value of your item, do you have a proof of postage?0 -

The Op has a helpful seller who arranges a courier and then has no record of their courier collecting? absolutely the seller is being honest. but there are other ways of being refunded involving a signed for label.
The seller either issues a label or the OP gets an automatic refund when he/she doesn't.0 -
Thanks for the replies,
I have all the messages that states the seller was arranging a collection - surely this will be good enough if i have to speak with ebay? Unfortunately the courier who collected did not give me anything when they collected the parcel, so i've asked the seller for the tracking number so i can see for myself where the parcel is.
I was not given a label to attach to the parcel, i was simply told to make the item available for collection which i did do and it was sucessfully collected.
It's been around 38 days since i purchased the item - will this matter since i have all the ebay messages what i sent to the seller within the first couple of weeks after i received the item and when the item appeared faulty.
For informational purposes, the item was a pair of trainers, i paid £150 for them, after i wore them for a short period of time i noticed the sole was coming away from the trainer top - i sent all photo's to the seller for reference, who agreed they were faulty and needed to be returned to the manufacturer.0
